Dismantling, Assembling and Control Principle of Siemens Generator

If you don't know about Siemens generator/alternator dismantling, assembling, and control principle, this article will show you more. 6.1 Dismantling This work must always take place in a clean environment containing no dust or moisture. The cable entry plate must be removed before the  generator  is actually dismantled. The terminal box must be opened in order to do so, and the exciter cables and bearing thermometer leads loosened. When the bolts adequate have been loosened, the guard over the rotating rectifier can be removed and the three-phase bridge or varistor replaced. When adequate bolts have been loosened, the two bearing can be forced off with the aid of the extraction tool and the tapped holes in the end shields. The bearings can then be inspected or replaced. The stator and rotor windings of the primary machine and the exciter can be checked after the rotor has been lifted out. 6.2 Assembling The generator must be re-assembled in reverse order. Suitabl...

Commissioning and Operation of Siemens Generator

4.4 Commissioning and operation of Siemens generator (alternator) 4.4.1 Commissioning The following checks are essential before the driving machine is commissioned; - The generator load must be disconnected. - the insulation resistance must have at least the specified value. - All the safety rules for operation of the generating set must be observed. - The protective earth conductor must be connected. After these checks, the complete generating sets can be started up in the accordance with the instructions. Providing the generator has not been out of service for more than three months, a brief visual inspection is sufficient before is started up again. 4.4.2 Changing the direction of rotation The generator is equipped with one fan for both directions of rotation. If the direction of rotation is changed, the phase sequence at the main terminal is also changed. 4.4.3 Operation Note: Deviations from the normal performance (higher power input, hig...

Mounting And Operation of CSIC SIEMENS Generator

3.1 Safety advice The openings, lifting eyes and hoisting lugs on the base-plates are used for transporting the machine sets. The sets must not be lifted by attaching ropes to the individual machines. Take account of the carrying capacity of these hoisting devices. Individual machines must only be suspended on the main lifting lugs or recesses. The hoisting gear used   must be designed in accordance with the weight. Use suitable rope guiding or spreading devices for avoiding damage to machine-mounted accessories. Auxiliary lifting lugs, e.g. on fan cowls, top-mounted heat exchanges etc, are not designed for carrying the machine weight. They are only suitable for lifting the respective individual part during dismantling and assembly. 3.2 Storage and conditions The generator and accessories must be stored in the proper manner until they are installed, and protected against moisture, dirt, various chemical substances, living creatures liable to cause damage and ...
