Environmental temperature and altitude

The engine can operate under the following conditions without power adjustment:

For an engine with a rotational speed of 1800 r/min, the altitude is below 1525 m (5000 ft) and the environmental temperature is below 40°C (104°F).

For an engine with a rotational speed of 1500 r/min, the altitude is below 1525 m (5000 ft) and the environmental temperature is below 40°C (104°F).

When the generator operates beyond the above - mentioned conditions:

When the altitude is higher than 1525 m (5000 ft), for every 300 m (1000 ft) increase in altitude, the power should be reduced by 4%.

When the environmental temperature is higher than 40°C (104°F), for every 11°C increase in temperature, the power should be reduced by 2% (for every 10°F increase, the power should be reduced by 1%).

What are the functions of the generator coupling?

1.Connection device: The coupling is a connecting device used to connect power - output mechanisms such as engines and driven mechanisms. It connects working components on different working planes so that they can work together.

2.Power transmission component: When two different mechanisms are connected by a coupling, the driving mechanism drives the driven mechanism to work under the fixation of the coupling, transmitting torque and power. Some couplings can not only transmit torque and power but also have different degrees of axial, radial, and angular compensation capabilities.

3.Shock - absorption and buffering: The coupling has the functions of shock - absorption and buffering.

The functions of the coupling are roughly the above three types. According to their functions, couplings can be roughly divided into three categories: rigid couplings, flexible couplings, and safety couplings. Rigid couplings can only transmit motion and torque. Flexible couplings can not only transmit motion and torque but also have different degrees of axial, radial, and angular compensation capabilities, as well as different degrees of shock - absorption and buffering functions. Safety couplings transmit motion and torque and provide overload safety protection. Although the coupling is small, it is of great significance to a generator set.
