Chongqing Cummins Engine Warranty Regulations 2

In this article, we will continue to introduce the warranty scope of new parts for Chongqing Cummins engines.

Chongqing Cummins' Responsibilities

Chongqing Cummins will pay all parts and labor costs required to eliminate the damage caused by warrantable malfunctions. Chongqing Cummins will pay for the cost of lubricating oil, antifreeze, filter cartridges, belts, hoses, and other maintenance items that cannot be reused due to warrantable malfunctions.

When the repair is carried out at the malfunction site, Chongqing Cummins will pay the reasonable expenses for the repairman to travel to and from the equipment site, including the repairman's meals, transportation, and accommodation expenses.

Chongqing Cummins will pay the reasonable labor costs required for the necessary engine disassembly and reinstallation when repairing warrantable malfunctions.

During the extended warranty period for main components, Chongqing Cummins will pay the repair costs or, at the customer's option, bear the replacement of the damaged warrantable parts and the cost of damage to other warrantable parts caused by the warrantable malfunction of the damaged warrantable parts.

Owner's Responsibilities

During the basic warranty period, the owner shall be responsible for paying the cost of lubricating oil, antifreeze, filter cartridges, and other maintenance items replaced during the warranty repair, unless these items cannot be reused due to warrantable malfunctions. If the parts are installed on an automobile engine, the owner shall be responsible for transporting the engine to the designated repair location. If the parts are installed on a marine engine, the owner shall be responsible for paying all relevant costs such as towing the vessel to the repair dock and mooring fees. During the extended warranty period for main components, the owner shall be responsible for paying all labor costs required for engine repair, including the labor costs for engine disassembly and reinstallation. When Chongqing Cummins chooses to repair the parts instead of replacing them, the owner is not responsible for paying the labor costs for repairing the parts. Except for the damaged warrantable parts and the damage to other warrantable parts caused by the warrantable malfunction of the damaged warrantable parts, the owner shall be responsible for paying the repair costs of all components.

The owner shall be responsible for the cost of lubricating oil, antifreeze, filter cartridges, and other maintenance items replaced during the repair of warrantable malfunctions.

Additional Responsibilities during the Basic Warranty and Extended Warranty for Main Components

When installing the parts, the owner has the responsibility to record the following items:

Date of part installation

Engine serial number

Installed parts

Location of the parts on the engine

Miles, kilometers, or hours of engine operation since the part installation

The purpose of the record is to protect the owner's interests and provide a basis for warranty claims.

1. The owner shall use and maintain the engine in accordance with the regulations in the applicable Chongqing Cummins operation and maintenance manual. The owner shall also be responsible for providing evidence of maintenance as recommended.

2. During the warranty period, the owner must notify Chongqing Cummins' distributors, authorized dealers, or other Chongqing Cummins - approved repair stations of any warrantable malfunctions and provide the engine to the above - mentioned institutions for repair.

3. The owner shall be responsible for communication costs, meals, accommodation, and similar expenses caused by warrantable malfunctions.

4. The owner shall be responsible for non - engine repair costs, downtime losses, cargo losses, fines, all applicable taxes, all business expenses, and other losses caused by warrantable malfunctions.

Chongqing Cummins is not responsible for malfunctions or damages confirmed by Chongqing Cummins to be caused by abuse or negligence, including but not limited to: operating the engine with insufficient coolant or lubricating oil; over - fueling; over - speeding; lack of maintenance of the lubrication system, cooling system, or intake system; improper storage, starting, pre - heating, running - in, or shutdown operations; unauthorized engine modifications. Chongqing Cummins is also not responsible for malfunctions caused by the use of sub - standard engine oil or fuel, as well as water, dust, or other contaminants in the fuel or engine oil.

1. This warranty clause does not apply to non - Chongqing Cummins accessories.

2. Before filing a claim for excessive oil consumption, the owner must provide sufficient documentation indicating that the oil consumption exceeds the standard published by Cummins.

3. Parts used for repairing warrantable malfunctions must be parts approved by Chongqing Cummins. Chongqing Cummins is not responsible for malfunctions caused by the use of non - Chongqing Cummins - approved parts.

4. Chongqing Cummins parts used for repairing warrantable malfunctions have the same remaining warranty period as the parts they replace.

5. This warranty does not apply to parts provided by Chongqing Cummins to the owner for free. Chongqing Cummins is not responsible for the wear and tear of warranty parts.
