Warranty Scope of Chongqing Cummins Engines

This warranty clause applies to new parts sold by Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Chongqing Cummins), which are delivered to the first end - user on or after July 1, 2005, and are used in the Chinese mainland area where there is Chongqing Cummins authorized maintenance service.

Basic Warranty for New Parts of Chongqing Cummins Engines

This warranty covers any malfunction (warrantable malfunction) of new parts caused by defects in materials or manufacturing processes under normal use and maintenance conditions. The warranty period starts from the date when Chongqing Cummins sells the new parts. From the date when the new parts are delivered to the end - user, the warranty period is one year, 100,000 miles (160,935 kilometers), or 3,600 hours of use, whichever comes first. For rubber - based parts (such as belts, hoses, gaskets, etc.) provided by Chongqing Cummins, if they are delivered to the end - user within two years from the date of sale by Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., the warranty period is 90 days.

 

Warranty Start Date for New Parts of Chongqing Cummins Engines

1.The warranty start date of new parts is calculated from the date when the original equipment manufacturer or authorized dealer delivers the new parts to the first end - user (a document indicating the warranty start date must be provided).

2.If the user cannot provide the document indicating the warranty start date of the new parts, the warranty start date of the new parts is calculated from the date of leaving the factory of Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. plus 30 days. 

Extended Warranty for Main Components of Chongqing Cummins Engines

The extended warranty for main components covers warrantable malfunctions of engine cylinder blocks, camshafts, crankshafts, and connecting rods (warrantable parts). Malfunctions of bushings and bearings are not covered by this warranty. This warranty period starts from the expiration of the basic warranty period of the new parts and ends three years from the date when the new parts are delivered to the first end - user, or 300,000 miles (482,805 kilometers), or 10,800 hours of use, whichever comes first.

Consumer Products

The warranty for consumer products is a limited warranty. Chongqing Cummins is not responsible for incidental or indirect losses. Any implied warranty applicable to consumer products and the express warranty applicable to the product terminate at the same time. These warranties apply to all owners in the distribution network and continue to apply to subsequent owners before the expiration of the warranty period.
