Rotor Installation Procedure of Mercedes Benz Generator Set

According to the specific conditions of the generator's electromechanical equipment and the construction conditions, different methods can be used to install the generator rotor. For most medium - and small - sized generators, the shaft - connecting method is used to install the rotor. As a special tool, the extension (short) shaft for rotor installation is generally supplied by the manufacturer along with the generator.

The normal procedure for installing the rotor of a Mercedes - Benz generator set is as follows:

1.Place a 0.8 - 1.0 mm thick cardboard along the entire length of the lower half - arc inside the stator. Move it back and forth at any time during the entire process of rotor installation to check if the rotor collides with the stator.

2.Position 1: The rotor is equipped with a short shaft and a rear bearing seat. The wire rope is hung on the part of the rotor cylinder close to the center for balance, keeping the rotor horizontal. Align it with the center of the stator and insert it into the stator hole until the short shaft protrudes from the front end of the stator. Then, support it with a steel beam and lower the rotor.

3.Position 2: The wire rope is hung on the short shaft of the rotor. With the help of the overhead crane and the chain hoists on both sides of the stator, apply force towards the turbine side to continue inserting the rotor into the stator.

4.Position 3: After the coupling protrudes from the stator, support the rotor, remove the short shaft, and then move the wire rope to the coupling or the main shaft to further insert the rotor into the stator. When the journal reaches the corresponding position in the bearing recess, the bearing bush can be placed in. Subsequently, remove all the lifting tools. Clean the inside of the rear bearing and the gaskets and steel plates under the seat, and then place adjustment gaskets and insulating gaskets after cleaning.

In this method, the rear bearing seat of the generator is first assembled with the rotor. That is, a rubber gasket or cardboard gasket with a thickness of more than 0.5 mm is placed between the bearing alloy in the bearing bush and the journal to connect the rear bearing with the rotor journal as a whole, thus shifting the center of gravity of the entire rotor to the side of the rear bearing seat. Then, a short shaft is installed on the other end (coupling) of the rotor, and sleepers are placed on the foundation floor at the exciter end, covered with a steel plate about 10 mm thick. The steel plate is coated with butter for lubrication during dragging. The elevation of the steel plate should be equal to the designed elevation of the rear bearing base.

Dingbo Power was founded in 1974 and is one of the earliest manufacturers of generators and diesel generator sets in China. If you want get more information, please feel free to send email to sales@dieselgeneratortech.com we will pay highly attention on your question.

What Is the Difference Between Electric Motor and Electric Generator

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force. In certain applications, such as in regenerative braking with traction motors, electric motors can be used in reverse as generators to recover energy that might otherwise be lost as heat and friction. An electric generator operates in the reverse direction, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric generator can be divided into various type, open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. Electric generator is mainly composed of diesel engine & alternator. Electric generator set is mainly composed of engine, alternator, control module, and common base. Electric generator :- Electric generator is a type of machine which converts mechanical input (energy) into electrical output (...

Perkins Powerful 4000 Series Engine at Middle East Electricity

The Perkins team returns to Middle East Electricity (MEE) in 2017 to promote the full range of its diesel and gas electric power engines. Taking pride of place is the 4000 Series platform, which is designed to provide prime or standby power in critical applications. The evolution of the Perkins 4000 Series The steady evolution of the powerful 4000 Series has taken place over a number of years, thanks to significant investment from Perkins. Its development means the engine is used for prime and standby applications by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end-users. The 4000 Series is tough and durable, provides consistent performance in the harshest conditions, and is proving to be a constant, reliable electric power source for prime applications all over the world. Perkins sells hundreds of 4000 Series engines every year into the prime power market. It has built more than 50,000 4000 Series engines for some of the world’s biggest businesses, and up to 30 pe...

Engine Fault Code Messages - Volvo Penta Engine

Volvo Penta Engine Fault Code When a malfunction has occurred and the diagnostic system has generated one or more fault codes, these are read out differently depending on the equipment used. Please refer to “Fault code messages”. If the system indicates that a fault code has been set: 1 Cut engine speed to idle, or shut the Volvo engine off. 2 For DCU/DU Read the fault code from the display, please refer to Reading fault codes via the DCU or Reading fault codes via the DU. For CIU press the diagnostic button and read the fault code, by observing the flashing of the diagnostic lamp. Refer to Reading fault codes via the diagnostic lamp, CIU. 3 Look up the fault code in the Fault Code Register chapter and take the recommended measures. Reading fault codes via the DU (Display Unit) Depending on the severity of the fault the text, either WARNING! or ALARM STOP (a buzzer sounds) will be shown on the display 1 Press any button to come to the fault list. The f...
