Noise Decibels of Environmentally Friendly Diesel Generators

Since diesel generators use diesel engines as power to convert diesel into electricity, they generate a great deal of noise during operation. Especially, the greater the power of the diesel generator, the louder the noise. The better the quality and workmanship of the generator set, the relatively smaller the noise. The noise of diesel generators mainly includes exhaust noise, mechanical noise, combustion noise, cooling fan and exhaust air noise, intake air noise, generator noise, and foundation vibration noise.

Ordinary diesel generator sets often produce noise that disturbs residents during operation. So, what harm can this noise cause to the human body? What is the noise level of an ordinary diesel generator set during operation? The noise values measured at different positions of the diesel generator set are different. Here, we will only discuss the average value. The average noise level at a distance of 1 meter from an ordinary diesel generator set is about 120 decibels.

According to the perception of ordinary people: 0 - 20 decibels is very quiet and almost imperceptible. 20 - 40 decibels is quiet, like a soft whisper. 40 - 60 decibels is average. Ordinary indoor conversation is 60 - 70 decibels, which is noisy and can damage nerves. 70 - 90 decibels is very noisy, and nerve cells will be damaged. 90 - 100 decibels means the noise intensifies and hearing will be impaired. 100 - 120 decibels is unbearable, and staying for one minute can cause temporary deafness. Therefore, noise has a significant impact on our lives.

Current national noise standards:

For environmental noise in residential areas: it should not exceed 50 decibels during the day and should be lower than 45 (40) decibels at night.

For the working environment: < 65 decibels.

If people live in an environment with noise above 80 decibels for a long time, it can cause irritability and hearing loss. Noise has a damaging effect on the central nervous system of humans and can induce cardiovascular diseases. When eating in a strong noise environment, the capillaries in the gastrointestinal tract will contract, the secretion of digestive juices and gastrointestinal peristalsis will weaken, and the normal blood supply will be disrupted. Strong noise can also cause abnormal pregnancy and impaired intellectual development in children. Therefore, in daily life, we should try to reduce the sources and spread of noise.

Therefore, in daily life, we should try our best to reduce the sources and spread of noise. When using diesel generators, please try to keep them away from residential areas. If it is really necessary to use them near residential areas, make sure to add noise reduction measures. You can customize container-type silent generators or choose to carry out noise reduction for the generator room and sound insulation renovation of the generator room. Try to minimize the impact of diesel generator noise on the lives of residents. Container-type silent generator sets have the advantages of beautiful appearance, reasonable structure, good sealing performance, fully enclosed cabinets, rainproof, snowproof, dustproof, the ability to work in harsh environments, good soundproof effect, and convenient lifting.

As a professional diesel generator manufacturer, we always insist on using first-class talents to build a first-class enterprise, create first-class products, create first-class services, and strive to build a first-class domestic enterprise. What Is the Difference Between Electric Motor and Electric Generator

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force. In certain applications, such as in regenerative braking with traction motors, electric motors can be used in reverse as generators to recover energy that might otherwise be lost as heat and friction. An electric generator operates in the reverse direction, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric generator can be divided into various type, open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. Electric generator is mainly composed of diesel engine & alternator. Electric generator set is mainly composed of engine, alternator, control module, and common base. Electric generator :- Electric generator is a type of machine which converts mechanical input (energy) into electrical output (...

Perkins Powerful 4000 Series Engine at Middle East Electricity

The Perkins team returns to Middle East Electricity (MEE) in 2017 to promote the full range of its diesel and gas electric power engines. Taking pride of place is the 4000 Series platform, which is designed to provide prime or standby power in critical applications. The evolution of the Perkins 4000 Series The steady evolution of the powerful 4000 Series has taken place over a number of years, thanks to significant investment from Perkins. Its development means the engine is used for prime and standby applications by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end-users. The 4000 Series is tough and durable, provides consistent performance in the harshest conditions, and is proving to be a constant, reliable electric power source for prime applications all over the world. Perkins sells hundreds of 4000 Series engines every year into the prime power market. It has built more than 50,000 4000 Series engines for some of the world’s biggest businesses, and up to 30 pe...

Engine Fault Code Messages - Volvo Penta Engine

Volvo Penta Engine Fault Code When a malfunction has occurred and the diagnostic system has generated one or more fault codes, these are read out differently depending on the equipment used. Please refer to “Fault code messages”. If the system indicates that a fault code has been set: 1 Cut engine speed to idle, or shut the Volvo engine off. 2 For DCU/DU Read the fault code from the display, please refer to Reading fault codes via the DCU or Reading fault codes via the DU. For CIU press the diagnostic button and read the fault code, by observing the flashing of the diagnostic lamp. Refer to Reading fault codes via the diagnostic lamp, CIU. 3 Look up the fault code in the Fault Code Register chapter and take the recommended measures. Reading fault codes via the DU (Display Unit) Depending on the severity of the fault the text, either WARNING! or ALARM STOP (a buzzer sounds) will be shown on the display 1 Press any button to come to the fault list. The f...
