Installation Steps of Control Box for Yuchai Diesel Generator Set

If a diesel generator set is connected to an automated control cabinet, the overall unit becomes an automated diesel generator set. Automated diesel generator sets have many benefits. It can achieve fully automatic switching between two power sources, including mains and mains, mains and power generation, or between power generation, to ensure the normal power consumption requirements of users.

After the diesel generator set is installed directly by the manufacturer, it is shipped to the customer's place of use, and the operation and management personnel only need to understand it.

 

For power systems with strict requirements for power interruption time in shopping malls, hotels, and factories, a mains/generator automatic switching system should be used. This system can automatically switch to the backup power system within 5 seconds of the original supply system power outage, thereby maintaining normal power supply.

 

Working principle of automated diesel generator set

 

If the original supply system is mains power, when there is a power outage or three-phase power loss, the automatic switching system immediately cuts off the mains power supply and automatically starts the generator. After the generator starts running, it will send out electricity within 3 seconds. When the mains power supply is normal, the generator will be delayed for 30 seconds to stop and automatically switch to mains power supply. If the original supply system is a generator, when the generator fails and shuts down, the automatic switching system immediately cuts off the power supply to the generator and automatically switches to the mains power supply.

 

1) The Yuchai generator control box (screen) is a supporting equipment for Yuchai generators, mainly used to control the power transmission and voltage regulation of Yuchai generators. According to the actual situation on site, the control box of the small capacity Yuchai generator is directly installed on the unit, while the control panel of the large capacity Yuchai generator is fixed on the ground foundation of the machine room or installed in a control room isolated from the unit. The specific installation method should comply with the installation process standards of the integrated distribution control cabinet (screen, table).

2) For Yuchai generator sets below 500KW, the random group is equipped with a matching control box (screen) and excitation box. For units above 500KW, a control screen is generally proposed.

3) The installation of metal cable trays should comply with the installation process standards for cable trays, based on the location of the control screen and unit installation.

 

Ground wire installation

1) Connect the neutral wire (working neutral wire) of Yuchai generator to the grounding busbar with a dedicated ground wire and nut, complete the bolt anti loosening device, and set up identification.

2) The accessible conductors of the Yuchai generator body and mechanical parts should be reliably connected to the protective grounding (PE) or grounding wire (PEN).

 

Unit wiring

1) The laying of cables for power circuits and control circuits, and their connection to equipment, should comply with the cable laying process standards.

2) The wiring of Yuchai generator and control box should be correct and reliable. The phase sequence at both ends of the feeder line must be consistent with the phase sequence of the original power supply system.

3) The random distribution cabinet and control cabinet wiring of Yuchai generator should be correct and error free. All fasteners should be firm without omission or detachment. The models and specifications of switches and protective devices must meet the design requirements.
