Diesel Generator Sets Fully Automatic Parallel Cabinet Project Part 1

What is the fully automatic parallel cabinet project for diesel generators? The principle of fully automatic parallel operation is that after several generators are connected, they are equivalent to a high-power generator supplying power to the load. The number of generators can be determined according to the size of the load (the unit consumes the lowest fuel at 75% of the rated load), thus achieving the goal of saving diesel and reducing the cost of diesel generators. Realize uninterrupted power supply to ensure normal production of the factory. When the unit is converted for use, the backup unit can be integrated into the operating system, and then all the load can be transferred to the already running backup unit before stopping the original operating unit. There is no need to cut off power halfway. Multiple units operate in parallel. When the load suddenly increases, the current surge is evenly distributed among the multiple units, reducing the force on each unit and stabilizing the voltage and frequency, which can extend the working life of the units.

Emergency diesel generator

The parallel operation of diesel generators generally requires the following basic conditions to be met:

1. Equal voltage;

2. Equal frequency;

3. Consistent phase sequence;

4. Equal phase;

5. Equal output characteristics;

Diesel generator cabinet classification: 1. Low voltage fixed type 2. Low voltage extraction type 3. High voltage fixed type 4. High voltage extraction type

Screen design: Adopting a combination type distribution cabinet with sealing plates on all sides, with a protection level of IP40. The four frames of the cabinet are perforated beams and columns, which can be freely and conveniently installed with various brackets. The upper part is a closed control room with ventilation louvers on both sides and a left hinged door for easy maintenance and operation by operators. The entire cabinet is made of 2mm thick electrolytic steel plate, which undergoes forming, acid washing, drying, spraying, and drying processes to ensure that it is not easy to peel off paint, corrode, or rust. The base is supported by U-shaped channel steel, allowing the entire cabinet to stand securely on the cable trench.

Busbar (busbar): All busbar connection surfaces are tinned to ensure reliable contact, and are marked in four colors: yellow, green, red, and black to indicate phase sequence and have a bright luster.

Self start and stop:

When the mains power fails, the generator set selected as the priority to start will be started first and automatically synchronously closed to deliver power to the ATS cabinet (provided by Party A), and then the ATS cabinet will deliver power to the load cabinet.

When the total output load exceeds 70% of the total rated power of the parallel generator set, the parallel cabinet will automatically output a start signal, and the next generator set will start and automatically synchronously close to transmit power to the grid.

When the total output load is less than 25% of the total rated power of the parallel connected generator sets, the parallel cabinet will issue a signal for opening and stopping. The unit will automatically trip one by one and delay shutdown until the unit with priority start is stopped.

When the mains power supply is normal, the ATS cabinet will automatically switch back to mains power supply, and the parallel cabinets will be opened one by one and shut down with a delay.

Diesel Generator Power Ratings: Standby vs Prime vs Continuous

Diesel generator sets are commonly used in a variety of sectors due to their dependable performance and high efficiency. They can be used for emergency power supply in the event of a power cut or used in places without connection to a power grid. When selecting a diesel generator for your home or business, you need to consider many factors, such as generator’s ratings. In this article, we’ll explain the three basic rating types - standby, prime, and continuous in diesel generators. ISO-8528-1:2018 defines basic generator set rating categories based on four operational categories: Emergency Standby Power (ESP), Prime Power (PRP), Continuous Power (COP) and Limited-Time Running Prime (LTP). Read on and learn the application of power ratings for engines used in generating sets. Standby Power Rating Standby Power(ESP) is used to supply emergency power when the external power supply is interrupted, such as power outages. Standby power rated generators can supply reliable electricity as t...

What Should You Pay Attention to in Routine Maintenance of Diesel Generator Sets

In modern society, the stability of power supply is directly related to the operation efficiency of enterprises and people's quality of life. Diesel generators have become an indispensable backup power supply or main power source in various industries due to their high efficiency, durability and reliability. However, to ensure the smooth operation and optimal performance of the generator sets, regular maintenance is essential. Here is what you need to pay attention to in the routine maintenance of diesel generators. Keep your generator clean It’s important to keep the generator’s exterior and the generator room clean. Regularly remove any dirt, dust, or debris that may accumulate to on the generator’s surface. This is not only for the sake of beauty, but also for the smooth operation of the unit. Cleaning the generator’s exterior, air intake vents, exhaust outlets and generator room can effectively reduce the risk of generator overheating. In addition, check if the connection bol...

How to Connect A Diesel Generator to Your House?

Diesel generators are fuel-efficient and reliable, which can almost meet the power needs of any application. If you want to power the whole house during power shortages, it’s a good choice to choose a diesel generator set as the backup electricity supply. But how to connect a diesel generator to your house? Read on and you will find the answer. Options to connect a diesel generator to your home   Keep in mind that never plug your generator directly into the mains, or it will cause back feeding, damage your appliances and be life-threatening for utility workers. Generally, you can choose to connect a generator to your house by using extension cords or a transfer switch. Understanding the difference between them is helpful for you to choose the right type. Extension cords   Typically, extension cords are suitable for smaller diesel generators that used for short term. They require no installation and are cost-effective. If you need to power only some basic appliances such as...
