What are the components of a diesel generator set? A diesel generator set is a type of internal combustion generator set, consisting of a diesel engine, an AC synchronous generator, a control box (screen) coupling, and a common base.

 

Generally, the complete set of production units uses a common base to install the main components such as the diesel engine, AC synchronous generator, and control box (screen) into a whole, that is, an integrated diesel generator set. The high-power engine, diesel engine, and generator device need to be designed separately for equipment such as the support screen, fuel tank, and water tank outside the common base welded with steel sections, to facilitate movement and installation.

 

The flywheel housing of the diesel engine is directly connected to the front end cover of the generator through a shoulder positioning in the axial direction, and a cylindrical elastic coupling is used to drive the generator to rotate directly by the flywheel. This connection method is fixed together by screws, so that the two are connected as a whole, ensuring that the concentricity between the crankshaft of the diesel engine and the rotor of the generator is within the specified range.

 

In order to reduce noise, the unit generally needs to install a dedicated muffler. In special cases, the unit needs to be fully shielded. In order to reduce the vibration of the unit, shock absorbers or rubber alkali vibration pads are installed at the connection between the main components such as the diesel engine, generator, control box, and wooden box and the/k common bottom bear. Some control boxes also adopt secondary vibration reduction measures.
