This article continues to introduce four parallel solutions for parallel controllers of diesel generator sets.

3. Manual parallel connection with load

 

1) After manual parallel connection, conduct a load test to observe whether the active and reactive power distribution of each unit is uniform;

 

2) After manual parallel connection, conduct a soft loading test to observe whether there is significant overshoot or power oscillation during the loading process. If there is, adjust the load slope appropriately:

 

3) After manual parallel loading, conduct a soft unloading test; Observe whether the unloading of the generator set reaches the minimum load percentage set value before opening the circuit breaker;

 

4) After manual parallel connection, perform load surge and unload tests to observe whether there is power oscillation phenomenon in the unit.

 

4. Fully automatic parallel connection

 

When the controller is in automatic mode and the switch input port is remotely powered on with load (as required), it can perform fully automatic parallel, power on, and shutdown tests according to user requirements. There are three automatic parallel schemes:

 

1) Power on according to demand: The module with the highest priority is powered on first. When the load exceeds the maximum percentage set for the module, the module with the second highest priority is powered on, synchronized in parallel, and evenly loaded. When the load is less than the minimum shutdown percentage set by the module, the module with lower priority will be shut down after the shutdown delay is completed, and the circuit breaker will be opened for cooling and shutdown.

 

2) Power on all: All modules are turned on simultaneously. The module that reaches the load condition is closed first, and the other modules are synchronized and parallel one by one after reaching the load condition. Then the module detects the load, and when the load is less than the minimum shutdown percentage set by the module, the module with lower priority will be shut down after the shutdown delay is completed, and the circuit breaker will be opened to dissipate heat and shut down. When the load exceeds the maximum startup percentage set by the module, all remaining units that have not been turned on will be restarted.

 

3) Balanced engine running time: The generator set with less accumulated engine running time is started first. When the running time of the operating unit is greater than the balanced engine running time of other units, the unit with the least running time is scheduled to start (can be started according to demand or fully started), and other units are synchronized in parallel. Disconnect, unload and stop the machine by yourself. All generator sets cycle automatically on and off according to the size of the balanced engine running time.
