2、 Diesel filter

 

Several issues that are easily overlooked during the maintenance process of diesel filters:

 

1. Some users lose the upper and lower sealing rubber gaskets and oil cover of the diesel filter element during maintenance, allowing diesel to flow into the inner cavity of the filter element without resistance through the gap between the filter element and the filter, causing the diesel filter to lose its filtering and purification function.

 

2. Some users invert the position of the tray and spring of the diesel filter, or even throw them away, leaving the inlet and outlet holes on the diesel filter cover open, and diesel cannot be filtered and directly enters the fuel injection pump.

 

3. Some users, when maintaining a diesel filter, open it and find that the diesel inside is very clean. However, they do not realize that this is a false impression, caused by the loose filter paper material and large micropores of the filter element. At this time, the filter paper has no filtering effect at all.

 

3、 Air filter

 

Air filters can be divided into several forms such as inertia type, filtration type, and comprehensive type, among which they can be further divided into dry and wet types based on whether the filter material is immersed in oil. Generally speaking, the maintenance methods for the air filter of diesel generator sets are as follows:

 

Loosen the end cap nut, remove the end cap, take out the filter element, place it on a clean ground, lightly tap or use a brush to remove dust, and then use compressed air (pressure not exceeding 588 kPa) to blow back from the inside out for maintenance. It is strictly prohibited to clean the filter element with oil or water.

 

After maintenance, the air filter element should be carefully inspected. Method: Place a light inside the filter element for inspection. If defects such as damaged filter paper or detached end caps are found, or after 5-6 normal uses and maintenance, please replace the filter element.

 

Attention: After maintenance of the air filter element, pay attention to correct installation and do not miss any parts.

 

It is also worth noting that if diesel generator sets often work in harsh environments such as deserts and construction sites, users should shorten their maintenance and replacement cycles appropriately. In dry and sandy environments, larger particles can easily enter between the piston and cylinder, causing serious "cylinder pulling" phenomenon in diesel generator sets and affecting their service life.
