Precautions for Adding Water to Diesel Generator Se

Sometimes we need to be careful when adding water to the water tank of the diesel generator set. We need to pay attention not only to the purchase, but also to the details when using the diesel generator set, so as to avoid improper use affecting the life of the diesel generator set. Next, we will begin to understand the requirements of adding water to the water tank of the diesel generator set.

1. Do not add well water or sewage. Water can be divided into two types based on whether it dissolves minerals: hard water and soft water. Hard water contains iron, calcium, and magnesium plasma. Untreated well water and spring water belong to hard water. If such hard water is added to the engine, it will produce compounds such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate after being heated and evaporated by the engine, which will precipitate and form scale. And scale, on the one hand, is a poor conductor of heat, and on the other hand, when scale increases to a certain extent, it will narrow the pipeline, reduce the flow of water, and affect engine heat dissipation, causing engine overheating. The sewage contains sediment and decaying organic matter, which can easily corrode the water tank and cylinder jacket, affecting their service life.

2. Don't ignore it, don't run out of water. When driving in hot weather, the evaporation of coolant in the water tank accelerates. It is important to always check the amount of coolant and observe the coolant temperature gauge. If the water tank is not fully filled, there is a problem with the coolant circulating inside the water jacket, and the water temperature can easily rise, causing "boiling". Some models have difficulty filling up when adding water, and their water tank is located lower than the engine. When adding water, the water inlet of the water tank shows that it is already full, but in reality, there is a shortage of water in the diesel engine water jacket.

3. Do not open the lid of the water tank when it is "boiling". Because the temperature inside the water tank is very high (at least 100 ℃) and the pressure is high when "boiling", suddenly opening the water tank cover will cause the boiling water and steam to spray out rapidly, which can easily scald the water dispenser. When "boiling" occurs, it is generally recommended to idle and wait for the engine temperature to drop before opening the cover and adding coolant. If time is tight, cover the water tank cover with a damp cloth first, then wrap your hands with a damp towel, and then slowly open the water tank cover. In addition, the speed of adding coolant should not be too fast and should be slowly added.

4. Do not spill water onto the engine when adding water. When adding water, if the water is sprayed on the spark plug socket, high-voltage line socket and distributor of the engine, it may affect the fire jump. If the water is splashed on the transmission belt, it may also cause it to slip. If the water is splashed on the engine body, it may also cause the engine body to deform or even crack.

What Is the Difference Between Electric Motor and Electric Generator

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force. In certain applications, such as in regenerative braking with traction motors, electric motors can be used in reverse as generators to recover energy that might otherwise be lost as heat and friction. An electric generator operates in the reverse direction, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric generator can be divided into various type, open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. Electric generator is mainly composed of diesel engine & alternator. Electric generator set is mainly composed of engine, alternator, control module, and common base. Electric generator :- Electric generator is a type of machine which converts mechanical input (energy) into electrical output (

Engine Fault Code Messages - Volvo Penta Engine

Volvo Penta Engine Fault Code When a malfunction has occurred and the diagnostic system has generated one or more fault codes, these are read out differently depending on the equipment used. Please refer to “Fault code messages”. If the system indicates that a fault code has been set: 1 Cut engine speed to idle, or shut the Volvo engine off. 2 For DCU/DU Read the fault code from the display, please refer to Reading fault codes via the DCU or Reading fault codes via the DU. For CIU press the diagnostic button and read the fault code, by observing the flashing of the diagnostic lamp. Refer to Reading fault codes via the diagnostic lamp, CIU. 3 Look up the fault code in the Fault Code Register chapter and take the recommended measures. Reading fault codes via the DU (Display Unit) Depending on the severity of the fault the text, either WARNING! or ALARM STOP (a buzzer sounds) will be shown on the display 1 Press any button to come to the fault list. Types of Diesel Engine and Application of Diesel Generator

This article will guide you to learn diesel engine types and important role of diesel generator. If you are interested, please keep reading.  What Are Diesel Engines? A type of internal combustion engine more accurately known as a compression ignition engine is designed to provide power by compressing the fuel at high temperature and significant pressure until it ignites. Diesel engines are either two-stroke or four-stroke .   ‘Stroke’ means the movement of the piston in the engine. Two-stroke This engine uses one stroke in each direction.   The first stroke being compression, which results in the ignition of the compressed fuel.   The return stroke brings new fuel into the cylinder. Four-stroke This engine has one compression stroke and one exhaust stroke and each one of those has a return stroke – hence, four-stroke. The compression stroke compresses the fuel/air mixture prior to ignition.   The exhaust stroke pushes the burnt gases out the exhaust. The
