What is Emission Grade of Diesel Generator?

What is emission grade of diesel generator?

Emission grade is a standard indicating that emission standards for exhaust gas pollutants. The European standard is a reference for diesel engine emission standards. At present, diesel generator set will mark the European standard of engine exhaust emission. Such as European stage II, stage III, stage IIII etc. In generally, the emission standard requirement is Euro stage III emission standards or ECE R96 stage III A or higher than these standards.

If exhaust gas emission can not meet the standard, maybe there is harmful to human body and environment.

Diesel engine exhaust gas is one of the main sources of environmental pollution, the exhaust gas from diesel engine contains gaseous, liquid and solid pollutants. Gaseous pollutants contain oxides, organic nitrides and sulfur-containing mixtures, etc. Liquid pollutants contain H2SO4, HC, oxides, etc. Solid pollutants include hydrocarbons, such as carbon, metals, inorganic oxides, sulfates and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) aldehydes.

CO is a colorless odorless gas produced by incomplete combustion of diesel oil. HC is also the product of diesel incomplete combustion and cylinder quenching. NOx is the general term for NO2 and NO. Both of them are nitrogen combustion products produced by excessive air and high temperature during combustion. NO is oxidized to NO2 in the air. NO2 is reddish brown and has a strong odor. Particle matter (PM) is a visible pollutant in the exhaust gas. It is composed of carbon pyrolyzed in diesel combustion, unburned hydrocarbons, sulfate produced in engine oil and diesel fuel combustion, etc. It is also the common black smoke emitted from exhaust pipe. The main pollutants emitted by diesel engines are NOx and PM.

When CO enters the human body through the respiratory tract, it will combine with hemoglobin, destroy the oxygen exchange mechanism in the blood, make people hypoxia and damage the central nervous system, cause headache, vomiting, coma and dementia and other consequences, and even cause CO poisoning in serious cases.

PM can cause chronic diseases, such as asthma, bronchitis and emphysema after being absorbed into human body, and PAH and other organic substances adsorbed on soot particles are extremely harmful carcinogens.

Therefore, we should control exhaust gas. How to control?

With the implementation of diesel engine of generator set for non-road use and three-stage diesel engine emission regulations, two-stage and three-stage Ricardo diesel engines have been put into use in the market. The requirements of use for Ricardo two-stage and three-stage emission standard is different from past low standard emission standard of diesel engine.

So how to correctly choose and use diesel oil? As follows:

1.We should choose certified Ricardo diesel generator set or other certified generator brands.

2.Choose diesel oil which has passed Euro two-stage and three-stage standard or higher standard.

Because it is difficult for most users to distinguish the quality of diesel oil, it is recommended that users choose the diesel oil provided by the supplier or local diesel oil stations that meets the Euro emission stage III and more national standards.

When the fuel system fails, the problem maybe that the diesel oil has been consumed. Detecting the remaining diesel oil in the tank can not fully explain the cause of the failure. But from the failure parts, such as oil pump, high pressure oil pump, pump nozzle, injector, etc., we can basically infer the actual use of diesel oil before.

The use requirements for diesel oil:

1.When adding diesel oil, attention should be paid to precipitation and cleanliness, so as to avoid secondary pollution caused by on-site tanker or tanker transshipment.

2.Before use, we should check and discharge the sewage from daily fuel tanks, diesel water separators or pre-filters. If abnormal conditions are found, we need to take measures.

3.It is recommended to replace diesel filter element, oil-water separator filter element and pre-filter element every 250 hours or every 12 months, whichever comes first.

4.Replacement of properly marked diesel oil according to ambient temperature.

The choice of diesel oil standard. It is recommended to choose the diesel oil which reaching to Ricardo diesel engine emission standard.

The use requirements of lubrication oil:

1.When adding or replacing lubricating oil, pay attention to cleanliness and avoid secondary pollution.

2.Before use, oil level should be checked and recorded. If abnormal oil level is found, should report to the generator manufacturer in time.

3.Regularly every 250 hours or every 12 months replace lubricating oil, oil filter and bypass filter.

4.Replace viscosity diesel oil according to environment.

If the generator manufacturer has special requirements for the maintenance cycle, please follow the guidance of the generator manufacturer.

All Starlight series Ricardo diesel generators and other diesel generators have certificates, such as ISO, CE and quality system certificates etc. And before delivery the generator set, we also test, then provide test report. So if you have purchase plan of diesel generators recently, welcome to contact us. We believe our product quality and service can meet your requirements.

What Is the Difference Between Electric Motor and Electric Generator

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force. In certain applications, such as in regenerative braking with traction motors, electric motors can be used in reverse as generators to recover energy that might otherwise be lost as heat and friction. An electric generator operates in the reverse direction, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric generator can be divided into various type, open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. Electric generator is mainly composed of diesel engine & alternator. Electric generator set is mainly composed of engine, alternator, control module, and common base. Electric generator :- Electric generator is a type of machine which converts mechanical input (energy) into electrical output (

Engine Fault Code Messages - Volvo Penta Engine

Volvo Penta Engine Fault Code When a malfunction has occurred and the diagnostic system has generated one or more fault codes, these are read out differently depending on the equipment used. Please refer to “Fault code messages”. If the system indicates that a fault code has been set: 1 Cut engine speed to idle, or shut the Volvo engine off. 2 For DCU/DU Read the fault code from the display, please refer to Reading fault codes via the DCU or Reading fault codes via the DU. For CIU press the diagnostic button and read the fault code, by observing the flashing of the diagnostic lamp. Refer to Reading fault codes via the diagnostic lamp, CIU. 3 Look up the fault code in the Fault Code Register chapter and take the recommended measures. Reading fault codes via the DU (Display Unit) Depending on the severity of the fault the text, either WARNING! or ALARM STOP (a buzzer sounds) will be shown on the display 1 Press any button to come to the fault list. Types of Diesel Engine and Application of Diesel Generator

This article will guide you to learn diesel engine types and important role of diesel generator. If you are interested, please keep reading.  What Are Diesel Engines? A type of internal combustion engine more accurately known as a compression ignition engine is designed to provide power by compressing the fuel at high temperature and significant pressure until it ignites. Diesel engines are either two-stroke or four-stroke .   ‘Stroke’ means the movement of the piston in the engine. Two-stroke This engine uses one stroke in each direction.   The first stroke being compression, which results in the ignition of the compressed fuel.   The return stroke brings new fuel into the cylinder. Four-stroke This engine has one compression stroke and one exhaust stroke and each one of those has a return stroke – hence, four-stroke. The compression stroke compresses the fuel/air mixture prior to ignition.   The exhaust stroke pushes the burnt gases out the exhaust. The
