Operation of Emergency Diesel Generator

The emergency generator shall retain sufficient (not less than 600 mm) space around the generator for maintenance and cleaning. The ventilation system shall be adequate to meet the requirements of the combustion process and cooling of the air. If it is necessary to use a fan to supply the air, the fan should be operated at the same time when the generator is on. The air shall be directly inputted or discharged without any obstruction, that is, fire dampers, smoke gates, or adjustable air gates shall not be fitted.

If the piping for the input and / or discharge of air is not entirely built in the room in which the generator is placed, but passes through an adjoining room or unit, the fire resistance of the pipe shall be equal to that of the fire resistance of the room in which the generator is placed or of the fire resistance of the room through which the generator is placed, Whichever is the greater. Emissions from combustion shall not cause nuisance to the public and shall be discharged in accordance with the guidelines and requirements of the Environmental Protection Department.

Operation of Emergency Diesel Generator Set

1. Operating Procedure
When the mains power fails, the generator should be started in time.
Check that the oil, diesel, battery, and voltage are normal before starting. Is the water level in the water tank sufficient?
Check if the blades and drive belts are normal, check for oil leaks and other loose connections throughout the fuselage.
The starting time should not exceed 5 seconds. The two consecutive starts are unsuccessful. The interval should be 2 minutes after the Nankang generator is rented out. If it cannot be started after three times, the cause should be found.

After the generator is powered normally, it should be observed that the operation of each instrument is normal. If abnormal conditions are found, stop the inspection immediately.
Keep the unit load not exceeding 80% of the customer's value during operation.
After the mains supply resumes power supply, the mains is converted by reverse operation according to the startup procedure. Keep running at no load for more than 5 minutes before stopping.
During operation, pay attention to turning on the blower.
After the emergency generator is started, it should be separated by 2 hours, and the voltage, current, oil pressure and water temperature should be recorded.
In operation, to ensure the normal and safe operation of the generator set, the unit must be inspected by a combination of watching, listening, smelling and touching.

2. Daily inspection and maintenance of emergency generators

Check the fuel level of the fuel tank and the water in the water tank. If it is insufficient, it should be added.
Check the oil level and add enough if not enough.
Check the stability of each accessory installation, the anchor of the anchor and the mechanical connection.
Check the machine for oil leaks and water leaks.
Check whether the meters are normal, whether the battery battery water is sufficient, and check whether the battery voltage is normal.
Clean the appearance of the machine and accessories.
The generator is placed in an automatic standby state and the battery is placed in a charging state.

What Is the Difference Between Electric Motor and Electric Generator

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force. In certain applications, such as in regenerative braking with traction motors, electric motors can be used in reverse as generators to recover energy that might otherwise be lost as heat and friction. An electric generator operates in the reverse direction, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric generator can be divided into various type, open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. Electric generator is mainly composed of diesel engine & alternator. Electric generator set is mainly composed of engine, alternator, control module, and common base. Electric generator :- Electric generator is a type of machine which converts mechanical input (energy) into electrical output (

Engine Fault Code Messages - Volvo Penta Engine

Volvo Penta Engine Fault Code When a malfunction has occurred and the diagnostic system has generated one or more fault codes, these are read out differently depending on the equipment used. Please refer to “Fault code messages”. If the system indicates that a fault code has been set: 1 Cut engine speed to idle, or shut the Volvo engine off. 2 For DCU/DU Read the fault code from the display, please refer to Reading fault codes via the DCU or Reading fault codes via the DU. For CIU press the diagnostic button and read the fault code, by observing the flashing of the diagnostic lamp. Refer to Reading fault codes via the diagnostic lamp, CIU. 3 Look up the fault code in the Fault Code Register chapter and take the recommended measures. Reading fault codes via the DU (Display Unit) Depending on the severity of the fault the text, either WARNING! or ALARM STOP (a buzzer sounds) will be shown on the display 1 Press any button to come to the fault list. The f

Types of Diesel Engine and Application of Diesel Generator

This article will guide you to learn diesel engine types and important role of diesel generator. If you are interested, please keep reading.  What Are Diesel Engines? A type of internal combustion engine more accurately known as a compression ignition engine is designed to provide power by compressing the fuel at high temperature and significant pressure until it ignites. Diesel engines are either two-stroke or four-stroke .   ‘Stroke’ means the movement of the piston in the engine. Two-stroke This engine uses one stroke in each direction.   The first stroke being compression, which results in the ignition of the compressed fuel.   The return stroke brings new fuel into the cylinder. Four-stroke This engine has one compression stroke and one exhaust stroke and each one of those has a return stroke – hence, four-stroke. The compression stroke compresses the fuel/air mixture prior to ignition.   The exhaust stroke pushes the burnt gases out the exhaust. The
