Top Maintenance Tips for Diesel Engine

Please note that regular maintenance is the best way of ensuring your engine lats as long as possible. Engine oil is very important when you use diesel engine. Make sure you will buy a good quality oil since the poor quality oil can increase oil viscosity during service life leading to insufficient lubrication during start up and operation.

To protect your machine running well, a good maintenance is necessary and important.

1. Inspect your cooling system coolant level.

2. Inspect your engine oil level.

3. Check your fuel system primary filter.

4. Make sure the oil filters you use meet or exceed the OEM filter recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

5. Whenever  you stop at the pump for fuel try to add a bottle of diesel treatment. This helps keep impurities in the fuel from reaching your engine.

6. Check the oil level of the fuel injection pump governor. The oil level should reach the mark on the oil dipstick. Add enough amount if necessary.

7. Check the installation of diesel engine accessories. Including the stability of the accessories installation and the reliability of the connection between the foundation bolt and the machine.

8. Check the instrument. Observe whether the instrument reading is normal or not. If it is not normal, repair or replace it timely.

9. Check the fuel injection pump transmission connection plate. Whether the connection screw is loose or not, if it is loose, proofread the fuel injection advance angle and tighten the fitting screw.

10. Clean air filter. For the inertia oil bath type air filter, you should clean the steel wire core and replace the engine oil. For basin (cyclone) type air filter, you should clean the dust on the dust collection plate and maintain the paper filter element.
necessary  - because it can introduce air into the fuel system.

11. Do not put fuel in the tank while the engine runs - unless it is absolutely necessary - because it can introduce air into the fuel system.

12. Do not allow dirt to enter the fuel system. Before a connection is disconnected, clean the area around the connection thoroughly. After a component has been disconnected, fit a suitable cover to all open connections.

Besides,  always check the condition of 0-rings and rubber seals when filters or plugs are removed, and consider replacement. Sump plug seals should be changed every oil change.

Hope the above maintenance tips can keep your diesel engine run well.

What Is the Difference Between Electric Motor and Electric Generator

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and winding currents to generate force. In certain applications, such as in regenerative braking with traction motors, electric motors can be used in reverse as generators to recover energy that might otherwise be lost as heat and friction. An electric generator operates in the reverse direction, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric generator can be divided into various type, open type, silent type, trailer type, portable type and container type, etc. Electric generator is mainly composed of diesel engine & alternator. Electric generator set is mainly composed of engine, alternator, control module, and common base. Electric generator :- Electric generator is a type of machine which converts mechanical input (energy) into electrical output (...

Engine Fault Code Messages - Volvo Penta Engine

Volvo Penta Engine Fault Code When a malfunction has occurred and the diagnostic system has generated one or more fault codes, these are read out differently depending on the equipment used. Please refer to “Fault code messages”. If the system indicates that a fault code has been set: 1 Cut engine speed to idle, or shut the Volvo engine off. 2 For DCU/DU Read the fault code from the display, please refer to Reading fault codes via the DCU or Reading fault codes via the DU. For CIU press the diagnostic button and read the fault code, by observing the flashing of the diagnostic lamp. Refer to Reading fault codes via the diagnostic lamp, CIU. 3 Look up the fault code in the Fault Code Register chapter and take the recommended measures. Reading fault codes via the DU (Display Unit) Depending on the severity of the fault the text, either WARNING! or ALARM STOP (a buzzer sounds) will be shown on the display 1 Press any button to come to the fault list.
